Coaching That Meets You at Your Hives

We'll come to you, on your schedule, and walk you through everything you need to raise healthy bees and produce delicious honey.

Local Education First

Central Oklahoma is home to a great community of beekeeping education. OSU offers an excellent online beekeeping course, the Oklahoma Beekeepers Association hosts classes, the Central Oklahoma Beekeepers Association (COBA) offers classes and mentorship, and the Frontier Country Beekeeping Association runs hands-on training near the fairgrounds in Guthrie. We wholeheartedly encourage anyone interested to take advantage of these resources.

When a Class Won't Fit

Not everyone can commit their Saturdays to a class — or you might want training tailored specifically to you. We offer both one-time consultations and season-long consultation packages. During a visit, we'll get to know where you are in your beekeeping journey, identify gaps, and walk you through best practices.

Season-Long Coaching

Hands-On Training at Your Own Hives

Season-long consultation goes deeper, covering the skills that keep colonies healthy through Oklahoma seasons:

  • Parasite and pest identification, and how to manage the damage they cause
  • Spotting disease early and knowing how to respond
  • Performing a mite wash and administering OAV treatments
  • Recognizing swarm signs and how to help prevent swarming
  • Queen management and best practices
  • When, what, and how to feed your bees
  • Knowing when to add supers, when to harvest, and how to extract honey without damaging your hive
  • What to do once honey season wraps up, and how to prepare your bees for winter
